It may mean there are messed-up files on the system. You may need to run RCLSTG, which checks the status of every object on the system. It can run a long time (hours) and requires a restricted state. Were you deleting the owned objects, or transferring ownership? If the former, maybe it'll let you change ownership and you can take care of the objects later. DLTUSRPRF USRPRF(xxxxx) OWNOBJOPT(*CHGOWN someone) Maybe there are files with invalid names, like with embedded slashes, and the system cannot resolve the names.

I received the following message, and am not sure what it means: Message . . . . : User profile XXXXX owns directory objects that do not have links. Cause . . . . . : The Work with Objects by Owner (WRKOBJOWN) command was used to display the objects owned by user profile XXXXX. User profile XXXXX owns directory objects that do not have links to them. Any ideas on what this means, and how I can delete this user?
