  • HMC status of a system

I assume you mean that you want to access the HMC remotely and use either line commands (CLI) or get the HMC console client (GUI) running on your remote PC. To get the GUI client point your browser to http:///remote_client.html. (where is the URL of your HMC.) If you want to use the CLI then get SSH from IBM (the open source tools 5722SC1), connect the HMC to your network, use SSH to connect and then execute the commands you need (like lssyscfg -r sys). V5 CLI reference manual: http://www14.software.ibm.com/webapp...mc_man_GA7.pdf All this takes some doing. I made a lot of calls to IBM support.

    HMC status of a system

hi there, How can I found out the status of a system on our HMC from OS400 - to make sure the system (partition) is up and running? I want to monitor status of other partitions. thanks Carl

been a while! I have managed to do as you say. The problem now is that although I can see whether a partition is up or not, I need the output from the command to a file so I can manipulate it and call programs. Any ideas? It seems like it doesn't like this .
