  • Encryption - AS400 to SUN Solaris

Looking for software for data encryption to/from an AS400 and Sun/Solaris (Unix?). We are doing basic FTPs. Our partner company suggested PGP by McAfee but it is not supported on the AS400. Any suggestions? Thanks, Dave.

Encryption - AS400 to SUN Solaris

Hi David, You might take a look at the Java Cryptography Extension, available at: http://www.javasoft.com/products/jce/index.html While this would basically require encryption at one end, FTP, then decryption at the other end, instead of being an encrypted FTP all-in-one solution, the same process would be available for any other needs. And runs on any platform supporting java. You may also want to check out GoAnywhere Director from Linoma Software at www.GoAnywhereMFT.com . It supports Open PGP encryption and secure FTP protocols of SFTP and FTPS. It can connect to SUN Solaris (as well as many other types of servers) using standard protocols. All transfers in GoAnywhere Director can be run either through the GoAnywhere scheduler or from your CL and RPG programs right on the iSeries or Solaris. A free trial is available on Linoma's web site.
