  • Multiple DUNs for RAS server

My company just recently added 1-800 dial-up access to our RAS server. Well, I was noticing the other day that I was having trouble dialing in to the RAS server through the local access line, so I had to switch to the 1-800 line. My ISP has a connection program which executes a given number of retries on the local access number, then automatically switched to their 1-800 access number if all the local retries fail. I want something like this for myself and my users. I want to have a "startup" macro/program which runs when I start my terminal emulation session (WRQ-Reflections), and auto-dials my local access number. I want to be able to specify the number of retries as a variable, as well as the time to wait between retries. If all up the retries are used up, and I'm still not connected, I want the macro/program to switch to the 1-800 number and try it. I still want to be able to control the configuration of these numbers through Dial-Up Networking's properties dialog box, maybe through a configure bottun in the macro/program window. Does this make any sense? Is it just a pipe dream? Any ideas? I am not a PC programmer, but I do have some understanding of how event-driven programming is done. Maybe just a gentle push in the right direction will be enough. src="http://www.geocities.com/SiliconValley/Grid/1212/images/Freshpt80.gif"width ="140" height="25"> The Fresh Produce Specialists
