I can understand that you have a functioning S36 solution, but I have to point out that both the PC and the Unix box are ASCII based and "inherently" prefer async communications. To try to make your PC look like a S36 might be more effort than is really needed here. I would recommend that you try to hook up an asyn modem to the PC and try to call an async port on the Unix box. You should be able to use regular old FTP to move the file to the Unix box. The Unix guys will also be much more receptive to dealing with a file coming from a PC (which they generally like) than from a S36 (which they generally hate). Good luck! JC
