  • Converting files AS36 to 5360

The reason for using the AS400 is that it has an 8" diskette drive, as does the 5360. The latest error message on the 5360 is SYS-1563 File is invalid for this system. I am using SAVE on the AS36 to tape, RESTORE FILE on the AS400, and then SAVS36F on the AS400 to diskette. No matter what I try I keep getting an error message. The worst part is I successfully did this about a year age. But then I had access to a 5360 with both tape drive and 8". Since then I have lost acces to this machine. (they threw it in the dumpster) Any ideas appreciated Bob Instead of using SAVE & RESTORE try using CPYTOTAP or CPYTODKT on the AS/36. Since this does not alter the format of the data (into save format) The data may be readable on the 5360 using TAPECOPY or a similar command. David Abramowitz
