A client recently purchased a new AS/400 and a 4230-4S3 printer, to replace the Advanced S/36 and 5225 that they have now. They want to attach the 4230 to the S/36 until they can switch their software to the AS/400. When we attach the 4230 to the S/36, however, and configure it as a 4214 (EA) it randomly converts 15 CPI reports to 10 CPI and sometimes shuts down with an A96 error on the printer. They can't find the A96 error in the manual. Does anyone know if this printer is compatible with the S/36?
