  • HELP 403 http error ????

I have unsuccessfully been trying to get Net Data up and running for a couple of weeks now. I have used several sources of internet information from IBM as well as several magazine subscriptions, and the only thing I know for certain is the more I read how easy it is to get Net Data up and running, the more difficult the task seems to be. I have set up TCP/IP, I am able to get to my server admin HTTP server (port 2001) and configure new HTTP servers. I have created a CGI library, copied the DB2WWW program, and given *public and QTTMHHTP and QTTMHTTP1 *use authority to library, program, and Net Data Macro File. I have been in and out of WRKHTTPCFG setting up various MAP, PASS, and EXEC statements, and I still receive error 403 - Forbidden when trying to run a simple Net Data Macro. If anyone has successfully set up Net Data, please respond.

    HELP 403 http error ????

I have done it.. twice actually. Once two years ago an once two weeks ago. Post your HTTP config, the URL that causes the error, as well as the Error message including description (ie not just 403) and I'll take a look at it. Maybe even post the Net.Data script you are trying to run. Bradley V. Stone BVS/Tools - www.bvstools.com

      HELP 403 http error ????

Thanks for agreeing to look at my configuration. I copied this directly from Craig Pelkie's article in the Nov/Dec issue of the AS/400 experts journal. As far as additional error descripton information. The only thing I get is "HTTP ERROR 403 - FORBIDDEN". I attached my configuration. Thanks again. Bernie Bialt

        HELP 403 http error ????

00150 Map /netdata/* QSYS.LIB/NDTEST.LIB/DB2WWW.PGM/ndtest/* The URL That Causes The Error - http://10.1.1.6:8081/ The Complete error and description - HTTP Error 403 - Forbidden
Let's take a look at what you're saying here. Your only MAP statement is the one shown above. It says, in effect, map any request for directory "netdata" to the program NDTEST/DB2WWW (not being too terribly familiar with Net.Data, I assume that anything after that is somehow passed as parameter data). You then ask for "http://10.1.1.6:8081/". The problem is, you are trying to access the root directory, and you have no pass statements allowing that. Instead, you need to be requesting something from the directory "netdata". I expect that a request such as "http://10.1.1.6:8081/netdata" will work, although you may have to attempt to get a document from that directory, such as "http:http://10.1.1.6:8081/netdata/hello.ndm". Try it, see if it works for you. src="//www.zappie.net/java/_derived/index.htm_cmp_zero110_vbtn_p.gif" width="140" height="60" border="0" alt="Java400.net - Java/400 Freeware" align="middle"> Java400.Net - where the AS/400 speaks Java with an RPG accent Home of PBD1.2, the FREE Java/400 Client/Server Toolkit
