We have been asked to establish a web page on the AS/400 capable of receiving/processing XML files from a trading partner using a Model 620. What is required in the way of hardware and software(CGI,Sockets,SSL,etc)? Will another AS/400 be required for this purpose due to the fact that we are running production/development on this box or add more dasd? Also, what in the way of a firewall will be required? We are currently using V4R3 and will an upgrade to V4R4 be required?

If you do not have a great deal of security concerns V4R3 will do a terrific job. For one example try http://www.hinotrucksusa.com If you want to use SSL for TELNET (Port 992) or more advanced features of the AS/400 internal firewall, IMO you should go to V4R4. Dave -
