  • IE5 Does Not Load Pages

My office uses an AS400 with HTTPServer to present a web page. Our site worked well until IE5. IE4 and Netscape loaded well and the first call was to the user to enter userid and password (400 Security). IE5 jumps that and delivers a page "error 401 Unauthorized Authentication Failed." What is the fix?

    IE5 Does Not Load Pages

I'm guessing that IE is simply forwarding your LAN ID to the 400 for authentication. Try this: In IE, go to Tools - Options. Select the Security tab. Select Custom Level. Scroll to the bottom and set User Authentication/Logon to "Prompt for user name and password". That's what mine is set to and I am always prompted for my ID & P/W when I hit our 400's web server. - JJ

Hi all I am Theodore Rosenbaum. I used IE5. I think there is lot of problem to load page, especially any kind of http surver loading and uploading. Now I am using firefox 3.16 and also firefox 4. up version doesn't support and I faced this problem. Thanks
