    Debugger ??????

I find it a little useful but I also like how the watch function works in STRDBG. It will stop anytime the value of a watched field changes. You don't have to keep an eye on the value on the screen because the debugger will stop for you when the value changes. Of course, if you really want the ability to view the field values on the screen when debugging then use Code/400 and it's Distributed Debugger. Scott Mildenberger

      Debugger ??????

Hi, I saw an old message that you had posted (from 1999) in which you mention using the LSOUTPUT file to list file names for FTP processing. I am having trouble using that file in an RPG program, and wonder if you recall how you defined and used LSOUTPUT to accomplish that. Any help would be appreciated. 4est

        Debugger ??????

4est, I typically override LSOUTPUT to my own file before I run the FTP. I then define that file internally within my rpg program. For example:
         OVRDBF FILE(LSOUTPUT) TOFILE(mylib/myfile) FTP xxx.xxx.xxx
        Fmyfile IP F 256 DISK . . . Imyfile NS I 1 256 RCD I x x FILE HTH, Joe

              Debugger ??????

If purchasing a new debugger is feasible for your company, check out Tango/04's Visual Debugger for Windows, which debugs OPM and ILE code, helps test your changes and also helps with program analysis. It's sold directly by Tango/04 in Europe www.tango04.com, or by SoftLanding in the U.S. www.softlanding.com Good luck!
