  • Adopt authority when running SNDDST

Steve, You do not have to be in the distribution directory to send a message using the API interface. One drawback is that you will not get a non-delivery messages if you are not in the directory. Another alternative is to automatically enroll the user. All of our users are enrolled via an exit attached to add/rst/chg/dlt-usrprf commands. David Morris

    Adopt authority when running SNDDST

Is there a way to adopt authority of someone already in the Distribution Directory to save me adding 'everyone' who may need to run the SNDDST command? Here's what I've done so far 1. Created *CMD/*PGM to provide suitable 'front end' to SNDDST 2. *PGM owned by QSYSOPR, USRPRF(*OWNER) 3. QSYSOPR is in the Dist Dir When the program runs (have checked...and it running under QSYSOPR) I get an error msg stating that 'my profile' is not in the Dist Dir. Thanks, Steve

David, But what if I simply want to use CL et al. ? How come the adopted authority of QSYSOPR (enrolled in DIR) is insufficient to issue the SNDDST? Steve
