    HELP WANTED! User ID and password is clearly shown in COMMS trace report on an ethernet line when a client access user signon on V3R7 AS/400. The common user ID or common router ID password looks encrypted but the signon ID is clearly shown! Anyone aware of this? What if QSECOFR signon using the same method! Any solution?

    That problem has been around since V1R3. IBM knows about it. But not many installations need to run communication traces. I do it very infrequently, maybe 6 times in the last 8 years. I run the trace, I don't signon that particular line while it's running.
