  • Disc, disc, goose - which disc is the right disc?

P.S. The add of option 9 worked perfectly - one more reason I love the AS/400. Joe - B2924 = Base licensed programs (5769SS1 and 5769999) in English (2924 is the language code for English) F2924 = Feature programs (individually ordered licpgms) in English (you could have multiple F2924s - for example, I upgraded my system last weekend and had one F2924_01 (1 of 1) and one F2924_01, F2924_02, and F2924_03 (1,2,3 of 3)) C1005450 = cum PTFs - the 1005 is January 5, 2001 PTF package, the 450 is V4R5M0 You should also (ALWAYS) have I_BASE_xx which is Licensed Internal Code. You might also have L2924 which would be licensed programs with keys or N2924 which is secondary language media (if you have language codes other than 2924 installed) This may not be entirely accurate but it's pretty close! In the Software Installation book (SC41-5120), in Chapter 3, is a table that shows what types of programs are on which CD's. HTH

There's info on it in knowledgebase document 21823002 at http://as400service.rochester.ibm.co...r/slkbase.nsf/ 1ac66549a21402188625680b0002037e/ 39418ed82d3d07fa862569c3007b11cd?OpenDocument Basically, 1.3 on 4.5 installs from PTF SF63319, rather than from a normal installation disk. Maybe SF63319 was loaded from your Cume disk C1005450? Or it's on there and you can RSTLICPGM from it? If not, you'll have to order SF63319. And for good measure, reload the Cume and/or Java Group PTF after installling 1.3, because there are numerous PTFs for it that won't load if it isn't installed. V4R5 Cume C1100450 is out now. For those of you on V4R4, the document is 21945350, the PTF is SF63322.

Disc, disc, goose - which disc is the right disc?

I have a whole slew of CDs with my V4R5 machine. They're broken down as follows: B2924_xx: 3 L2924_xx: 1 F2924_xx: 8 C1005450xx: 1 I'm trying to add feature 5769SS1 option 9 (previous version CL compile) and I'm not quite sure which disks to use. As I'm typing this, I tried the B2924 disks, and they seem to be working. I put in disk 1, it skipped it and asked for disk 2, where it found the feature and now it's busy loading it. But say I want to add JDK1.3. I'm not exactly sure which option it is. How do I find out? How do I then know which disks to use? What are the L2924 and F2924 disks for? Obviously I'm REALLY new to systems administration, so any help as well as some good beginning URLs would be greatly appreciated. Joe
