Is it possible to remotely access a tape drive on a different AS/400, and restore the file to the local machine? I have a 3490 tape and I would like to restore a file from this tape to the local machine. I tried to reference the drive through the QFileSvr.400 IFS system. I can see the root of the remote system, I can change the current directory to the remote machine, even to the QSys.lib of it. But when I try to do a RST, it errors, saying that it is not a valid device. Any Ideas? This would be really cool if it works.... (by the way, I would restore to the remote machine, save, and ftp it to this one, but disk is limited on that system.)
