  • V5R1 Defective Cume C1226510

V5R1 Cume PTF C1226510 has been withdrawn due to defective PTF SI01923 on it. I just discovered this while looking up stuff prior to our V5R1 upgrade this weekend. The "current" Cume is back to being C1163510, and SI01923 is listed as defective in PTF documents SF98068 and SF98510. Info is as follows: USERS AFFECTED: All OS/400 users with PTF SI01923 applied. SI01923 is included in cumulative PTF package C1226510 which has been withdrawn. REASON DEFECTIVE: If a saved system is used to upgrade to Version 5 Release 1.0 you will get errors, resulting with message CPF3DF1 and the file system will be unusable. RECOMMENDATION: Apply the fixing PTF SI02097 when it becomes available or omit SI01923 before applying cumulative PTF package C1226510. C1226510 has been withdrawn. I read this as implying that I can use C1226510 if I tell it not to install SI01923.

According to IBM, I can use Cume C1226510 if I omit PTFs SI01650 and SI01923.
