The Hispanic Heritage Foundation (HHF) announced today its collaboration with IBM which includes leveraging IBM SkillsBuild – a free education program that helps students and adult learners develop valuable new skills and access career opportunities in technology fields – by providing digital content, personalized mentoring, and the experiential learning they need to gain technical, critical thinking, and creative problem-solving skills. The program will be offered for FREE to HHF Network, is completely digital, and includes IBM-branded digital credentials that are recognized by the market to create direct pathways to tech jobs.  The effort will be open to high school students, college students, young professionals, and adult learners.

Speaking at the recent Billington Cybersecurity Summit, Jen Easterly, director of the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), encouraged greater collaboration between government and industry, referring to the act of collaboration as the agency’s ‘superpower’. While her statement related directly to the U.S. government’s cybersecurity strategy and defenses, we agree that collaboration is a ‘superpower’.

As outlined in our March launch and June update, the IBM Ecosystem strategy in the federal market is built on the same principles: collaboration around R&D, collective and cross-functional engagement in new business pursuits, and co-creation of technology solutions to the federal government’s most complex challenges.

Medical Benefits and 401(k) Enhancements for Active IBMers in the U.S.

IBM is making a significant investment in its medical benefit offerings and will improve and simplify its U.S. medical plan. In 2023, IBM will offer three new medical plan options with enhancements and simplified plan provisions. The majority of IBMers will see no change or a reduction to the amount paid monthly for healthcare premiums.

IBM today announced a new 33-month work order under its contract with the Defense Microelectronics Activity (DMEA) to provide security services designed to enhance the Department of Defense’s (DoD) microelectronics supply chain for critical mission platforms. As part of the Trusted Foundry Access II program, IBM Consulting will continue to establish secured microelectronics manufacturing flows at commercial state-of-the-art fabrication facilities.
