MC Press Launches Contest for Xbox 360

California systems development director wins high-def virtual video glasses in prior giveaway ending in June. 

If you're stuck in the summer doldrums and everyone in the office is out on vacation but you, try spending a few minutes visiting MC Press Online's MC Resource Center and enter the latest giveaway for a chance to win an Xbox 360 Pro. 

MC Press' current contest-the "IT 'X' Factor" Xbox 360 Giveaway-began July 1 and runs through September 30 (U.S. and Canadian residents only, please). The drawing for the Xbox 360 Pro will take place September 30, and the winner will be selected from among entrants who complete online contest registration forms available in MC Resource Centers. While you're there, take a minute to check out the extensive collection of white papers, Webcasts, and software downloads available free from MC Press Online sponsors.

A Buena Park, California, director of systems development, who wished to remain anonymous, was the lucky winner of the last MC Press Online "See the Big Picture" giveaway of a pair of Zetronix high-definition virtual video glasses that had a retail value of $300. His entry was selected at random in June by Kara Keating-Stuart, MC Press advertising sales manager. 

"We were delighted to present one of our loyal readers with these super-cool video glasses and pleased that he took the time to explore our very popular MC Software Center," said Phillips. "The recipient told me he felt he was a winner simply by finding a software solution that fit a problem he had been trying to solve and that receiving the video glasses made him a winner a second time over," Phillips said. 

Phillips noted that the MC Resource Centers are the "ultimate resource" for solution-seeking IBM professionals and added that, "While we can't give a pair of video glasses to every visitor, everyone really does win just by choosing from the vast selection of complimentary white papers, 'try-before-you-buy' software, and on-demand Webcasts provided without charge by our respected IBM business partners." 

This summer's MC Press reader contest will offer entrants a chance to win an Xbox 360 Pro gaming console by Microsoft. The prize has a manufacturer's suggested retail price of $299,* but readers must send in their entries by September 30. IBM industry professionals are encouraged to visit any of the MC Resource Centers to select as many of the available items as they like and to include an entry to the contest along with their download request.
