Sogeti, a provider of information technology services and member of Capgemini Group, has announced that seven Sogeti IT consultants will volunteer their time and expertise to create custom software for nonprofit organizations at the upcoming Ann Arbor Give Camp to be held Washtenaw Community College in Ann Arbor, Michigan, July 11-13.

"Sogeti's participation in the Ann Arbor Give Camp event provides a wonderful opportunity for our consultants to help give back to the local community," said Mike Williams, Sogeti vice president. "The Ann Arbor Give Camp will also allow Sogeti to meet and collaborate with other local area developers, database administrators, and Web enthusiasts, giving everyone involved the chance to learn from each other's experience while supporting a great cause."

The Ann Arbor Give Camp will begin on the evening of Friday, July 11, and include classroom facilities and 24-hour support from the Give Camp organizers, allowing the volunteer consultants the maximum amount of coding time. The Give Camp will conclude on Sunday, July 13, with a review and presentation of the applications created during the weekend. Sogeti's volunteer consultants include: Mike Hacker, Mark Chaaban, David Lewis, Shahul Khan, Mike Luttenberger, Derek Gusoff, and Sunil Raikhanghar.

Sogeti USA also announced it was selected by Microsoft as a finalist for the Microsoft Partner of the Year award in advanced infrastructure solutions, Windows desktop deployment.

"This recognition is a testimony to the fact that Sogeti is delivering world-class advanced infrastructure solutions using Microsoft technologies as the platform for reducing the total cost of IT ownership and increasing efficiency and operational agility," said Sanjeev Agarwal, Sogeti vice president global Microsoft solutions practice.

The Microsoft Partner Program Awards recognize Microsoft partners that have developed and delivered exceptional Microsoft-based solutions over the past year. Awards will be presented in a number of categories, with winners chosen from a pool of more than 2,000 entrants worldwide. The Advanced Infrastructure Solutions, Windows Desktop Deployment Partner of the Year award honors partners with proven expertise in helping customers migrate to a Windows Vista Optimized Desktop. This award recognizes partners that have successfully deployed Microsoft technologies with Windows Vista, Microsoft Desktop Optimization Pack, and System Center to help customers more efficiently and cost-effectively manage their desktop assets, support their users, manage security, and deploy new applications.

"Partners are critical to delivering rich business solutions and innovative excellence to customers," said Allison Watson, corporate vice president, Worldwide Partner Group, Microsoft. "Congratulations to the 2008 Partner Award winners who have each demonstrated innovation beyond measure and an unswerving commitment to delivering the highest levels of customer satisfaction. We look forward to these partners continuing to raise the bar in the design and deployment of customer solutions built on Microsoft technologies."
