Standard and customized packages are now available for remote monitoring, administration and hosting.

Connectria, a global provider in Cloud Computing, Managed Hosting and Complex Hosting solutions, has announced the availability of 24/7 remote monitoring services for the IBM System i platform.

The IBM System i, or Power Systems, has been a mainstay midrange server for over 20 years, with an estimated 200,000+ customers worldwide. As companies continue to run legacy applications on the System i, it has become increasingly difficult to maintain the necessary staff and skill set to manage this environment, according to the company.

Connectria has been providing System i Managed Hosting and remote management services for customers around the globe for nearly 10 years, with experience on IBM Power Systems, System i, iSeries, and AS/400 platforms running IBM i, i5/OS, and OS/400.

Unlike Connectria’s Managed Hosting services where System i server(s) are housed and managed 24/7 within Connectria’s data centers, remote management services allow Connectria’s engineers to manage customer-located System i servers from its 24/7 monitoring centers in the United States. With either System i managed hosting or remote management, Connectria’s engineers are responsible for running and supporting its customers’ IBM System i servers 24/7. Both of these services appeal to customers that do not have in-house support staff or trained System i engineers.

Due to an increased demand for additional IBM System i managed services, Connectria has launched its System i Remote Monitoring solution with attractive price points. With IBM System i Remote Monitoring, Connectria’s staff complements customers’ in-house staff by remotely monitoring for errors and alerts 24/7. When conditions occur, Connectria’s staff can take corrective action, and when necessary, escalate issues to its customers’ staff members. This allows Connectria’s customers to support their IBM System i servers 24/7 without having to staff a monitoring center 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. Connectria’s Remote Monitoring services start at just $795/month.

“We believe our System i Remote Monitoring Services are low risk, low cost services that yield big rewards for our customers, noted Rich Waidmann,” president and CEO of Connectria. “Many companies rely on their IBM System i servers as a critical computing platform that runs their business. Most have limited staff or resources for supporting their System i environments. Rather than have a company’s system administrator or manager respond to alerts and issues in the middle of the night, Connectria’s 24/7 staff can remotely monitor or manage their System i servers to ensure problems get resolved before our customers come back to work the next day. Downtime is significantly reduced while less stress and demand is placed upon internal IT staff. It’s hard to put a price on that."
