Node.js is a JavaScript runtime environment used by startups and enterprises alike for everything from enterprise applications, robotics, API engines, cloud stacks and mobile websites. Its lightweight architecture and modularity allowit to power some of the most widely used websites like Netflix, Airbnb, Twitter, PayPal, Walmart, Yahoo! and more. Used by nearly 9 million people worldwide, the platform is a key driver in digital transformation and is quickly becoming the de facto platform for serverless, microservice-based and containerized workloads.

The annual conference Node.js Interactive starts today with more than 700 developers descending on Vancouver, British Columbia to fine tune their Node.js skills. Influential project community and technical leaders will preview the Node.js roadmap in keynotes like The Node.js Technical Roadmap and Node.js Wave 6, led by Technical Steering Committee members James Snell and Myles Borins.

"Our members' support is incredibly important to the Foundation's work to provide infrastructure, develop certifications and to conduct collaborative and learning events to meet the demands of new developers coming into the project and enterprise users," said Mark Hinkle, Executive Director of The Node.js Foundation. "We are excited to welcome these innovative companies into our community and greatly appreciate their commitment to the stability, security and growth of the Node.js platform."

More about today's new Node.js Foundation members:

The Bitnami application automation platform delivers and maintains a catalog of ready-to-run server applications and development environments in partnership with the world's leading cloud providers such as Amazon, Google, Microsoft, Oracle and more. That same application automation platform that drives over one million deployments per month is also available to enterprise developers looking to streamline their software development processes.

"Supporting the growth of the Node.js community is important to Bitnami. Not only is Node.js providing the framework for us to build some of our next generation software packaging tools, it is also empowering a rapidly growing new generation of software developers. We look forward to contributing to the community and ecosystem and continuing to enable users to get started and grow with Bitnami packaged Node.js in any environment." Tom McCafferty – VP of Marketing, Bitnami

The team also built the popular open source process manager, PM2, which has been downloaded more than 20 million times.

"Open Source culture and the Node.js ecosystem are the seeds that grew the Keymetrics adventure, as our business has been built on top of PM2, the de-facto open source process manager for Node.js. With Keymetrics becoming a more mature business, the natural next steps for us are to contribute further to this ecosystem by joining the Foundation." Alexandre Strzelewicz – CEO, Keymetrics

^Lift Security helps companies identify and eliminate security risks. Whether the ^Lift team is reviewing code for security mistakes or sneaking their way in like an advanced attacker would, the company takes improving the security of their clients very seriously. In fact ^Lift is the company that npm trusts for security guidance and auditing. In 2016, ^Lift donated The Node.js Security Project data to be managed by The Node.js Foundation.
