UBD Replacador Delivers Dedupe & Replication Functionality to IBM i and Storwize V3700

LaserVault’s newest solution makes deduplication with replication affordable for the SMB.

IBM i shops using IBM Storwize V3700 can now add deduplication and replication to their data protection. With LaserVault’s new UBD Replacador IT departments can strengthen their backup operations.

According to Brad Jensen, CEO at Electronic Storage Corporation, makers of UBD Replacador, “The Storwize V3700 storage solution is designed with small to midsized businesses in mind. This makes it a perfect fit with our solution. They both offer ease of use and management, fluid functionality, and affordability.”

“Using the systems together creates a powerful solution for managing IBM i data. What UBD Replacador brings to the table is the ability for the SMB to take their data protection up a notch by adding deduplication and replication.”

IBM i shops can use UBD Replacador to save deduplicated backups to the Storwize device. The deduplication is provided by Windows 2012 R2 and enables the user to maximize the storage capacity of the V3700. The Windows deduplicated backups can then be replicated offsite to a second V3700 for disaster recovery using UBD Replacador. The replication can be completed on demand or as a scheduled task for hands-free execution.

LaserVault

IBM Storwize V3700 is the entry-level system in the IBM Storwize family of storage products.

UBD Replacador is a tape emulation backup solution that includes Windows 2012 R2 deduplication and Replacador replication for IBM i (iSeries, AS/400, System i) and Linux.
