We have to do a complete reload of our system in the very near future. I'm interested in hearing people's experiences/advice. We have a 9406-D45 with 2440 (no high-speed feature) 7.2GB (mirrored to 3.6) at approximately 85 percent. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

I have had to do numerous reloads, usually at the most inconvenient of times. If it is an option, look at the SAVSTG command. It will back up and reload your system faster than anything else. There are limitations to using this command (you cannot restore individual objects, just the entire system), so refer to the Backup and Recovery Guide.
If that isn't an option, I would recommend saving the access paths for your logical files. This doesn't cause much increase in time for the backup, but can drastically reduce the reload time. This is done in the SAVLIB *NONSYS section of your total system backup.
