Interactive Messages

I have an interactive program that process a group of data, the user will enter data and press a function key to run it interactively, I want the use to see that the process is going on so I want to display a message on the screen while the program is running. e.g. "The update process is in progress, please wait ......" and when the program ends it will go back to the original screen. Currently, the program runs fine but the user doesnt know if its running or the program hang. Its like a progress bar in windows. Any sample program I can use. Thank you.

With a call to QCMDEXC you could run the SNDPGMMSG command specifying message CPF9898 with any text you choose. This will appear at the bottom of the screen.
