  • JDBC Driver differences

Hi All, We our currently using the JDBC driver (COM.ibm.db2.jdbc.app.DB2Driver) that comes with DB2 Connect to retrieve data from our iSeries machine. We discovered that in order to use this driver, we have to specify in the SQL statement the library that the file(s) are located in. We would like the library list to be used to find the file(s). We know that the JDBC driver that comes with the AS400 Toolkit for Java (com.ibm.as400.access.AS400JDBCDriver) can use the library list and we have it working in another application. A third party was telling us we needed DB2 Connect for this particular application. My question is, is there any significant difference between these two JDBC drivers? I guess the driver that comes with DB2 Connect is called a "type 2" driver, but I'm not sure if that is significant or not. Any help would be appreciated. TIA Dean Eshleman, MMA, Inc.
