Pass through PPP link to AS/400 onto WWW
To find out whether your AS/400 DNS is function, type NSLOOKUP from any command line. The screen should dispaly your AS/400 as the default server. If not or it is showing your Linux box instead, then chagne your AS/400 DNS setting to your AS/400 IP address by using CHGTCPDMN command. Back to NSLOOKUP, type www.ibm.com. If the AS/400 return the IP address, then it is working. Now, you are sure that you can not browse by IP address right? Which browser and version are you using at home? Did you set it up as the same way as your office to use the proxy server? For Netscape, it apply to both dialup and LAN within the same profile. However, for MSIE, make sure you select the dialup for your office to change the setting, not the one on the LAN. If both of the above are correct and working, there is no reason that you can not browse. If it is, then the only thing left is your firewall filter rules. Shawn Fu
