George, I don't have any experience with multiple languages, but thoughts that come to mind are: - see if you can run the application with a job description with CCSID 285 - make sure you have the IBM CCSID translation table for the two CCSID's involved in a translation failure Also, here's a link to IBM doc that talks about a related issue, a copy source file in CCSID 285 being compiled with a primary source file with CCSID 37: http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infoce...c092540546.htm Might point in the direction you need to go. rd

CCSID issue
We have an issue with code pages etc I wonder if any one can help. we needed to change our ccsid to 285 for an application to work , upon doing this compiles etc failed because the fld with a £ was being converted to either $ or # If we revert back our settings back our application which converts spool files to PDF fails with error 101 (cant convert data) Our settings are qccsid qchrid qlangid netserver Compile Application 37 69737 ENU or ENG 0 (TAKES SYSVAL) ok fail 285 697285 as above as above fail ok 285 313285 as above as above fail ok 285 313285 as above 1252 fail ok can anyone offer any advice Cheers George
