  • Journaling Files - Before/After Images

Let's say we are journaling a file for *After images only and change a record using DBU/DFU or program. When I do CMPJRNIMG for the RRN I changed, I can see the *Before image on the CMPJRNIMG printout. I also did a DSPJRN on the files and didn't see any "UB" journal entries. Why is this happening????? I would have thought this was impossible if I didn't see this for myself.

    Journaling Files - Before/After Images

It looks like CMPJRNIMG will use the after image and previous after image to deduce the before image when you journal *AFTER images only. If you prompt the CMPJRNIMG command and do an F1 with the cursor on the title, it alludes to using after images when *BOTH is not specified. Hope this helps. Chuck
