  • Interspersing the latest changes when doing a Scratch and Restore

We experienced a fatal condition on our system this last weekend and ended up doing a Scratch/Restore. I wasn't too worried since I had done a full system backup just 3 weeks prior. I encountered a situation where I didn't know exactly how something was supposed to happen. Our nightly backups begin with SavSecDta, SavCfg and SavDLO, then we do backups of the necessary libraries. It was easy to exclude the necessary libraries from the RstLib *nonsys and then restore them later after everything had been loaded up from the full system save. But, I couldn't figure out what the best way would be to update the security profiles to the previous night's save. The only way I could conceive was to delete every user profile except for QSECOFR and then do the RSTUSRPRF from the nightly tape, then do the RSTAUT command. Is this the proper method or is there a better way to do it? I guess the same question would apply to the configurations. Bill
