I just saw him at a User Group meeting in Tampa. His presence will definately be missed in the AS/400 community!!!!! I always went out of my way to attend one of his lectures at COMMON or when he came to town to speak. Jim Quinlan

News Item: John Sears to retire. For those who don't know, or never met John Sears, he held the title "Distinguished Engineer" with IBM. John was a regular on the talk circuit. He could easily explain the most complex of topics in the simplest of terms. I had attended a few of his lectures, and was impressed by his knowledge and eloquence. As far as I'm concerned, he will be sorely missed. DaveComment
