Gotomypc - use it for remote access?
PC Magazine referred to GoToMyPC as a "revolutionary product". Having now used it for over 2 weeks, I agree with them. I was previously using a remote dial-in product over a 56K modem. Now I'm using GoToMyPC at cable modem speed plus not trying up my phone line! In a previous post, I posted a link to numerous reviews of this product over at http://www.cnet.com/software/0-32278...2-1218-7141658 These reviews cover a wide range of viewpoints. Everything from this is a tremendous telecommuting tool and time saver to its being a major security threat. What's your opinion?

Since it transfers all traffic through its central servers, their bandwidth directly affects performance, so busy days will be slower. Also, at $10-$20 per month per PC, it's pretty expensive compared to the free options that are out there (Netmeeting and others).

Someone just pointed out this product to me. Sounds almost too good to be true. Has anyone tried it? What do you think are its pros and cons. Personally I'm a pcANYWHERE user, but this product sounds better. Click here for more information - http://www.gotomypc.com

GoToMyPC 2.0 With GoToMyPC 2.0 in your bag of tricks, you can operate your PC from any Web browser; no special software is necessary. Although GoToMyPC is on the pricey side ($19.95 per month or $120 per year), this Web service is by far the best way to access files, get e-mail, and run programs on a Windows PC from a remote computer or a wireless handheld PDA. Plus, GoToMyPC's security is first-rate. Remote control just doesn't get any easier than this. ------------------------------- The above words are from CNET.[*]****************************** I can now personally report that after upgrading to version 2.0 of this product, I can print word documents, etc... directly from my PC at work onto either my PC printer at work or my PC printer at home. This product is now more than ever a telecommuter's best friend.
