PAGE RANGE PRINTING
Carl, I used to have this problem with another employer. If I wanted page 20 out of 500, it still printed from 1 to 500. They too, were set up as remote devices. Here, our attached printers set up as *lan for device type. This allows us to use the pagerange feature without any problems. Here is our set up for our OFFICE printer. It is an HP Laserjet-4 st. We also have other printer types set up like this also. PAGE RANGE PRINTING
My first thought is Robot. It has a report distribution component that would do what you want (I believe) but it is an extremely expensive solution. On the other hand I have printed to a printer directly connected to my PC (using Printer emulation) and been able to print only the page range. I haven't tried it recently on just a remote printer but who knows it might actually work now. What you might be able to do is set up a printer emulation to the printer you want to print. Sent the spool file to the output queue that is created (be sure to have it save(*yes) just in case it doesn't work) and have the page range set. A printer emulation session can be created for any printer that can be seen on the lan or direct connected to your pc.
