How do I identify network printers to my AS/400

You can specify them as LPD printers by specifying an IP address on the OUTQ description, or you can set them up as network printers by specifying an IP address on the DEVD. If you specify the IP address on the OUTQD, you cannot print partial spool files, and you start them with STRRMTWTR. If you set them up as a network printer by specifying the IP address on the DEVD, then it appears to be the same as any other printer. Hope this helps, Russell

Add-on question: If a printer is attached with a NT server (parallel port) can the AS400 print to it as a as400 network printer? How ?
