Creating an overlay and calling it out from an AFPDS file via DDS or OVRPRTF is easy enough, but since the overlay loads with each new document, the time to print is just too long. I know there is a way to download overlays to a PCL5 printer and call them out as needed, but I am not familiar with the process. Does anyone know of a redbook (I looked but didn't find) or other documentation on how this process works? Any special hardware required? Thanks, Dan

Dan, Go to: publib.boulder.ibm.com/pubs/h...ne/v4r5eng.htm This is an online book about Advanced Printing by IBM. It is viewed using Adobe Acrobat Reader. If you don't have Adobe, it will download for you at no charge. The search (binoculars) facility should be able to help you. If this is not what you are looking for, let me know and I'll point you elsewhere. -bretLast edited by Guest; 03-04-2019, 03:39 PM.

Did you ever resolve this issue? We just started printing a bill using an overlay & the printing is taking hours for 1600 pages. I tried looking for the information mentioned in the responses but haven't had any luck accessing the files. TIA Lori
