Ron, What is the optimization level on the compile, maybe the default on the command has been changed to *FULL. Compile with optimization set to *NONE and see if that corrects the values you see in debug. Scott Mildenberger

To run this program is it called by another program? If so, did you re-link? I do not know if re-link is the correct terminology for the AS/400, but that is what we use to call it on the IBM3090. If program A calls program B, does program A know that program B has been recompiled?

BINGO!!! That was it Scott, my optimization level is set to full by default. I changed it to *none and it works like a charm. Thanks you everybody. Is there any reference to optimization level, that explains what each value does? (The help on this parameter does not go into detail). Ron
