    Robby, I can only speak for the AS/400, but I believe IBM is indeed standardized on the X'nn..nn' format for hex specifications. What you are asking for is usually related to trying to select a packed decimal field "hidden" in a defined character field. If this is the case, and you would like to select something like a 7 decimal packed field with a value greater than 100 (unsigned) the value to compare to would be X'0000100F' Remember that decimals are assumed so if the field is 7.2 the above value is the same as 1.00 Bill robby griffith wrote: When using COPYDATA to copy a S36 file, I seem to remember a way to include or omit hex data using an X in front of the data.
