  • REMOVING an IFS share

Here's a new one... anybody ever figure out how to REMOVE a share from an IFS folder? I'm sure there's a magical table somewhere on the AS/400, but I haven't gotten desperate enough to search it out yet. OpsNav doesn't seem to have the capability to remove a share, unless I'm missing something. Joe

    REMOVING an IFS share

Open Netserver and right click on the share. There is an option to Stop Sharing that removes it. Trevor

"Open Netserver". I'm dense today, I think (no comments from the peanut gallery ). How do I open Netserver?

Joe, Start Ops Nav. Click the + on the system name. Click the + on Network. Select TCP/IP. Right-Click AS/400 NetServer. Right-Click Shared Objects. Bill

you can also add and remove IFS shares from the command line using the QZLSADFS and QZLSRMS API's. This allows shares to be created in a CL. I use this to dynamically create a share, submit a remote PC command to process a file that is on that share, and then dynamically remove the share. It works great.
