We have the following at the end of our startup program: STRCLNUP OPTION(*SCHED) Scott Mildenberger

We have three AS/400's a F35 running V3R2 , a 270 running V4R5, and a 720 running V4R4. We use the cleanup comand to clean-up user messages, job logs, etc. On the F35 and the 270 the cleanup command runs just fine all the time, but on the 720 whenever we go down to a restriced state we have to start the cleanup command again, for example on Friday nights we backup the entire system using the IBM save menu (option 21) which takes the system to a restricted state, then early morning Sunday we do an automatic powerdown with a restart *yes. On Monday we have to issue the cleanup command again. Why is this?

After the IPL and before you try to start the cleanup manualy, is job QSYSSCD running in your controling subsystem? If not, are there any messages in QSYSOPR and/or the system history log. What is the ALWCLNUP parameter in the CHGCLNUP command set to?
