Business Computer Design, Int'l., Inc. has announced that its business partner channel is expanding locally and in the global market. Three new partners have joined BCD's successful Business Partner program: Deltacare in the Benelux countries in Europe; evolveIT with headquarters in California, and Dagessa in Poland. These new partners market and provide services using BCD's integrated suite of System i modernization solutions that include: WebSmart ILE, WebSmart PHP, Presto, Nexus Portal, Clover Query, and Catapult.

"BCD business partners are growing their businesses by offering our suite of five integrated System i and multi-platform application and business modernization solutions and services," says Eric Figura, BCD's director of sales and marketing. "Clients really like the idea of having choices by selecting specific solutions that best fit their own definition of modernization. They can stay on the System i without leaving the platform to meet their business goals, and add new integrated modernization components as their business needs expand."

BCD signed an agreement with Deltacare (http://www.deltacare.nl/) to market and support its products in the Benelux countries (Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxemburg). Deltacare, situated in Den Bosch, in the southern region of the Netherlands, is a member of the Pantheon Group, which is one of the longest standing IT service companies serving that region. Deltacare is a recognized force in the System i marketplace, particularly in procurement. It focuses on the public and semi-public healthcare segment and assists organizations with the acquisition of data management solutions and with project management. Deltacare was founded in 1992 and joined the Pantheon group in 2003.

Pantheon Group is one of the largest IBM Business Partners for the System i in the Netherlands. In 20 years, Pantheon has established a solid position in the Dutch market and serves over 200 customers.

Frits van Muijlwijk, Deltacare manager of Business Development, says that "The BCD products are an enrichment of Deltacare's product portfolio and are very important to help companies in the Benelux create modern and Web-enabled applications on IBM's System i, or help modernize existing legacy applications. In the Netherlands, there are many companies looking for sophisticated tools that are easy to learn and use, to help them with these projects. We are sure that with the complete range of BCD products there is an answer to this need, and we are excited that we can help these companies be successful."

Another new BCD partner is evolveIT (http://www.evolveit.com/), headquartered near Irvine, CA. evolveIT offers System i professional services along with BCD application modernization tools for turnkey solutions. They recently completed a modernization project for Veolia Environmental Services replacing 20-year-old RPG applications with a new modern Web application created with WebSmart, Nexus Portal and Clover Query that leveraged a lot of the existing RPG code. evolveIT has been in business since 1991 and is focused on developing, selling, and supporting software technology and professional services solutions for supply chain oriented applications running on highly reliable host-computing platforms. They also offer their own solution for RF/wireless terminal emulation and advanced terminal session management (ATSM) called Stay-Linked.

Dan Hogan, evolveIT's vice president of client technical resources began considering the use of WebSmart in evolveIT's consulting practice after spending a year trying to work andother modernization product into the company's client application modernization processes. "I couldn't make the value proposition work. The price point for the toolset was probably two and a half to three times what WebSmart costs. And the learning curve probably one and a half times as much."

The third new BCD partner is Dagessa (www.degessa.pl) headquartered in Poland.  Dagessa specializes in services, support and consulting for the IBM i. They serve several of the largest IBM i computer users in Poland including AIG Bank, Broen, DnB NORD Bank, Eaton, Fortis Bank, Hellmann Worldwide Logistics, and Schering Polska among others.

"BCD is the only System i vendor that offers such a complete solution. An integrated System i and multi-platform Web development tool, PHP or ILE CGI, instant green screen Web enablement, a secured portal for clients, partners and employees, real-time Web querying and automated document and report distribution with Web archiving. BCD covers the modernization options people want when making decisions," says Figura.

BCD has received more than 35 industry awards--including 13 for WebSmart--for software excellence. It has 30 years of experience in the IBM midrange marketplace.
