Provides real time settlement using a variety of digital assets
IBM today announced IBM Blockchain World Wire, a real-time global payments network for regulated financial institutions, is officially accessible in a growing number of markets.
Designed to optimize and accelerate foreign exchange, cross border payments and remittances, World Wire is the first blockchain network of its kind to integrate payment messaging, clearing and settlement on a single unified network, while allowing participants to dynamically choose from a variety of digital assets for settlement.
Provides automated backup and recovery in place of physical tape handling and storage for IBM Power Systems
IBM i shops relying on tape or tape libraries for their backup and recovery have a new alternative to speed up and simplify their operations. LaserVault ViTL offers a fast and affordable way to eliminate or reduce dependence on using tape for IBM Power Systems and eliminate the costly manual processes associated with using tape.
Global Gender Gap in Leadership Could Persist until 2073 Unless Companies Prioritize Advancing Women
A new study by IBM, "Women, Leadership, and the Priority Paradox," polled 2,300 executives and professionals and revealed that the leadership gender gap in the global workplace continues to persist because organizations have yet to make advancing women a formal business priority. The study also provides guidance on how to drive change.
The global study, conducted by IBM Institute for Business Value (IBV) in cooperation with Oxford Economics, surveyed an equal number of women and men from organizations worldwide across multiple industries to better understand why a large gender disparity in the leadership ranks persists and what can be done to drive progress toward gender equality. In addition to the qualitative survey, IBV conducted a series of one on one interviews with executives and professionals across six global regions.
New Service Uncovers and Helps Address Security Vulnerabilities in Blockchain Design and Implementations
IBM Security's team of offensive security experts, X-Force Red, today announced the launch of a new blockchain testing service to help identify weaknesses and strengthen security of a wide range of solutions that incorporate the fast-growing technology. Leveraging the extensive security and developer expertise of X-Force Red penetration testers, the service will evaluate both the backend processes used to manage blockchain networks as well as the actual ledger environment.
CULedger, a credit union service organization (CUSO), today announced a collaboration with IBM to pioneer new blockchain-based services to help credit unions provide a better experience for members.

The companies also intend to help drive greater financial inclusion by extending reach to a broader range of new members.
For significant improvement over classical systems, the power of quantum computers must double every year
At the 2019 American Physical Society March Meeting, IBM unveiled a new scientific milestone, announcing its highest quantum volume to date. Quantum Volume is a measurement, a procedure developed by IBM, that determines how powerful a quantum computer is, accounting for both gate and measurement errors, device cross talk, as well as device connectivity and circuit compiler efficiency. It follows that the higher the Quantum Volume, the more real-world, complex problems quantum computers can potentially solve, such as simulating chemistry, modeling financial risk, and supply chain optimization.
Georgia's Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority uses IBM Watson IoT tools to help predict, identify and repair potential issues with critical equipment and machinery
IBM today announced a new portfolio of Internet of Things (IoT) solutions that team artificial intelligence (AI) and advanced analytics to help asset intensive organizations, such as the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA), to improve maintenance strategies. The solution is designed to help organizations to lower costs and reduce the risk of failure from physical assets such as vehicles, manufacturing robots, turbines, mining equipment, elevators, and electrical transformers. IBM Maximo Asset Performance Management (APM) solutions collect data from physical assets in near real-time and provide insights on current operating conditions, predict potential issues, identify problems and offer repair recommendations.
