Townsend Security today announced a partnership with IBM that brings the power of Alliance Key Manager to the IBM Cloud marketplace. Starting today, IBM clients can use Alliance Key Manager for IBM Cloud to manage their encryption keys with the same FIPS 140-2 compliant technology that is in the company's hardware security module (HSM) and in use by over 3,000 customers worldwide.
As enterprises adopt the cloud, they bring their sensitive data with them – customer names, email addresses and other personally identifiable information (PII). By encrypting sensitive data and properly managing the encryption keys with Alliance Key Manager for IBM Cloud, enterprises can meet compliance regulations such as PCI DSS, FISMA, HIPAA, etc.
Available at no extra charge, Townsend Security includes ready-to-use security applications (SQL Server, Drupal, more), SDKs, and sample code (Java, C#, IBM i, more) for developers. Additionally, there are never extra fees for deploying client-side applications.
The IBM Cloud marketplace offers client's access to more than 100 SaaS applications, IBM's Bluemix™ platform-as-a-service with its suite of composable services, the powerful SoftLayer infrastructure-as-a-service and IBM's rich intellectual capital and deep industry expertise. This single online destination with a suite of cloud services delivers a new buying experience for clients that enables line of business professionals to deploy new services faster; allows developers to build them with greater speed; and offers IT departments more creative, efficient and lower-cost ways to deliver these services.
"Beyond improving security, enterprises are realizing the benefits of encryption and key management by increasing business efficiency, reducing operational costs, and demonstrating compliance," said Patrick Townsend, CEO of Townsend Security. "We are pleased to expand our relationship with IBM and demonstrate our commitment to their customers' data security by bringing Alliance Key Manager to IBM Cloud," continued Townsend.
