Vision Solutions, a leading provider of high availability and disaster recovery solutions in the IBM System i and System p markets, has announced an important milestone in its global market roll-out of EchoStream for AIX by passing benchmark testing at IBM's Shenzhen System p Test Center. Paving the way for roll-out in China, these tests validate EchoStream's core replication technology, continuous data protection and ease of installation, as well as support the product's specific fit within the SMB market sector.

"As I lead various IBM initiatives, the need for innovative, mass-deployable solutions that can be easily implemented is clear -- especially in this market," says Liu Hong Bing, IBM's System p manager of high volume sales in China. "Vision Solutions' EchoStream is such a product. Not only does it pass our benchmarking standards, EchoStream is a winner because it easily integrates with customers' systems to provide unprecedented data-management and data-recovery solutions."

"EchoStream is a true continuous data protection (CDP) solution delivering any point-in-time data recovery at the push of a button," says Alan Arnold, Vision Solutions' chief technology officer and executive vice president, Alan Arnold. "Clients can instantly reverse data corruption without the time or labor required for recovery from tape."

"Vision's research team identified an unsatisfied global demand for truly, easy-to-deploy, disaster recovery replication on AIX," says Allan Campbell, Vision Solutions' vice president of sales for Asia Pacific. "It's gratifying to see that in China, one of the world's largest markets, this positioning of EchoStream is being validated."

Analysis was overseen by the IBM Shenzhen p Series Test Center established by IBM China. The Center benchmarks specific products for functionality, ease of use, and compatibility. The benchmark reinforces Vision Solutions' commitment to continual performance and scalability breakthroughs for IBM's System p.

"Our Company takes its commitments seriously and is excited about the opportunities within the Chinese market," says Henry Martinez, senior vice president of engineering for Vision Solutions. "We specifically visited the Shenzhen test center because of its outstanding reputation. Our ever-growing product line and in-region support demonstrate our commitment to current and future customers throughout this dynamic area of the world."
