POWERUp 2020 Rescheduled for August 31, 2020

Most of you will recall that that just recently I assured you that COMMON's 60th year celebration in Atlanta, POWERUp 2020, was moving forward. Both before and since that assurance, we at COMMON have been actively monitoring many sources for guidance about this pandemic. In the last few days the situation has changed very quickly. Both in the United States as well as globally, the situation with COVID-19 is evolving rapidly.

As you know, COMMON’s most important priority and commitment is to protect the health, well-being, and safety of all our conference attendees, staff, volunteers, and their communities.

After careful evaluation of currently available information, including guidance and directives from the CDC, health and medical experts, and federal and local governmental agencies, we have taken the decision to reschedule POWERUp 2020. The conference in Atlanta will not go forward as scheduled and has been re-scheduled to the dates of August 31 – September 3, 2020 in Tampa, Florida. This will enable us to provide the experience that our attendees, partners, volunteers and staff expect and deserve. More details about the rescheduled event, as well as other educational offerings to be announced soon, will be announced in the coming weeks.

If you booked your hotel through COMMON’s housing link, then your hotel reservation will be cancelled for you automatically. If you made airline reservations, then please contact them directly to make your changes.

The COMMON board and especially the Staff thank you for your patience over the past few weeks as we monitored the ever-evolving situation and tried to make the best decision in the interest of the COMMON community. We ask that you please continue to be patient with us during this time. If you have any urgent questions, please reach out to us at This email address is being protected from spambots.
