CYBRA Partners with Systems Integrator to Deliver RFID Solutions

Bar-code, forms, and RFID solutions provider CYBRA Corp., and systems integrator Solzon Corp. have expanded an existing relationship to form a strategic partnership to deliver comprehensive RFID solutions to System i customers. The partnership was announced at the Electronic Product Code (EPC) Connection 2007 Conference and Exhibition in Chicago.

Responding to what the companies say is a marketplace need for experienced RFID solution providers who specialize in the IBM System i platform, the partnership offers System i customers a one-stop shop for System i-based RFID software, integration services, RFID hardware, and supplies.

Integration, Development and Marketing Agreement

Under the terms of the agreement, Solzon will provide professional services as CYBRA's premier integration partner in support of the installation and configuration of CYBRA's EdgeMagic product, which is currently under development. In addition, Solzon will continue to collaborate with CYBRA in the system design and architecture of EdgeMagic that is slated for customer first release this December.

CYBRA has acquired a perpetual, worldwide license to utilize selected design elements of the Solzon RFID-for-iSeries product, and existing customers of Solzon's RFID-for-iSeries product will be offered an upgrade path to EdgeMagic. Another component of the agreement grants marketing rights to Solzon to resell CYBRA's MarkMagic and EdgeMagic product lines.

Full System i Auto-ID Solution Capabilities

According to CYBRA President Harold Brand, "this strategic partnership establishes the highest caliber team of IBM System i Auto-Id product development expertise coupled with System i systems integration proficiency. This combination will be essential to delivering a total end to end RFID solution centered on the EdgeMagic and MarkMagic offerings."

Says Phil Przybyszewski, Solzon president, "for the first time, IBM System i customers needing to comply with Wal-Mart, Department of Defense and other RFID mandates as well as implementing fixed assets tracking and other closed loop RFID applications, can now turn to the best of breed single source to supply all their needs, including: native System i RFID middleware, System i RFID systems integration, hardware, supplies, training, and maintenance. About EdgeMagic Integrated RFID Control Software for System i

EdgeMagic Integrated RFID Control Software for the IBM System i is designed to manage edge devices, read RFID tags and is totally integrated with System i ERP/WMS applications. Among the features included are:

  • Geiger Counter FunctionùEdgeMagic includes a Handheld Geiger Counter function that as the operator gets closer to the RFID tag, the handheld beeps louder and louder to lead the operator to the correct tagged item.

  • Google Map and Google Earth IntegrationùEdgeMagic includes tools for extracting geospatial data from RFID data (combined with ERP and WMS data) to integrate with Google Maps and Google Earth and allow customers to see where orders are in the supply chain (or where tagged assets are located).
