iMessaging Systems has announced its new Telephony Integration Program (TIP) for System i application providers (ISV's) as well as lucrative reseller and referral programs for IBM Business Partners. Announcement of the programs has been timed to leverage the availability of iMessaging's SIP-enabled version of it's iNspire Call Center Suite (see related story this issue).

iNspire delivers the ability to integrate any System i-based business application providing services such as inbound and outbound IVR (interactive voice response), intelligent call routing, custom screen pops, ACD queuing with music-on-hold and custom status messages and both automated and agent-assisted dialing services.

iMessaging designed the Telephony Integration Program (TIP) to assist System i ISV's with telephony integration. With this program model, ISV's will be able to create a telephony-enabled out-of-the-box solution using iNspire. The TIP program gives ISV's a complete package that includes the iNspire API's (Application Programming Interfaces), consulting, training, programming assistance and technical support. iNspire API's feature a set of easy to learn System i based application development tools that ISVs use to embed telephony within their existing System i based programs and to build telephony call flows as needed. Presales support and marketing programs are also included as part of the TIP program.

VACAVA, a CRM application provider, was an early entrant into iMessaging's TIP program. VACAVA used iNspire to deliver VACAVA Customer Care, a comprehensive new package that gives customers a solution for three unique business environments: customer support, inbound inquires and orders, and outbound marketing, all in one integrated package. "Key to the successful launch of VACAVA Customer Care was the outstanding marketing and technical support we received from the entire iMessaging team," says Terry Bird, VACAVA president and COO. "One of the key objectives for VACAVA Customer Care was that it be easy to setup and run - something that is very important for small to mid-size customers. iNspire for the System i insulated our development team from having to deal with complex telephony integration issues, allowing us to deliver a sophisticated, full function customer support application which can be installed, set up and run with minimal IT skills."

A Win-Win Proposition for Application Providers

"iNspire delivers the best of both worlds to IBM and its application providers by providing the ability to integrate telephony today with a clear migration path to VoIP in the future", notes Karen Sedlar CEO of iMessaging Systems. "iNspire gives application providers the ability to embed telephony directly into their application programs on the System i while leveraging iMessaging's ability to handle the telephony signaling and integration. It's truly a win/win proposition. Through the deployment of iNspire, application providers deliver a value-added enhancement to their customer base."

Vormittag Associates, Inc. (VAI), an application provider featuring enterprise management software for System i has recently joined the TIP program. VAI will integrate telephony using the iNspire suite within several modules. VAI plans to add inbound screen pops to customer inquiry, order entry and account status screens and Click-to-call functions for "To Do Lists", Accounts Receivable, Order Entry and Service / Billing modules. As well, telephony automation of inbound service requests and outbound appointment reminders will be strong application enhancements. Kevin Beasley, CIO at VAI notes, "In today's competitive market, VAI's customers cannot afford to miss a call or not have maximum telephony efficiency and capabilities. It's critical to capture every caller and every sale. By integrating with iNspire, VAI's ERP software has broader capabilities to reach new customers, plus our existing customers have access to PBX integration and VoIP integration now or in the future."

For IBM Business Partners who are certified to sell System i IP Telephony, iMessaging offers a solution that provides seamless integration between business applications and telephony environments including both traditional phone systems and System i IP Telephony. Migrations from older or traditional analog or digital based phone systems require only a simple interface change within the iNspire parameters. This provides Reseller and Referral Partners with an opportunity to integrate telephony today and position the clients for VOIP in the future.

iMessaging's Reseller program is being enhanced for IBM Business Partners wanting to sell the iNspire solution while maintaining control of the sale and pricing flexibility. The Referral program is aimed at partners who are interested in promoting iMessaging's solutions but do not want to lead the sale.

CIM Strategies, Inc., one of the leading IBM Business Partners certified to sell System i IP Telephony, has strategically partnered with iMessaging to promote telephony integration with the System i. "We believe IBM's System i IP Telephony solution is the best offering on the System i in many years" states Bob Bowen, President of CIM Strategies. "And, by partnering with iMessaging we are able to offer a huge value add over our competition with a solution that can be referenced and one that truly integrates any System i business application with a customer's phone system. In fact, we introduce iMessaging into all our IP Telephony opportunities, offering a unique proposition to truly integrate data, applications and voice. iMessaging has been great to work with... their sales, marketing and technical support is knowledgeable and always responsive."
