Solidcore Systems, Inc., the leader in adding control to change management, today announced that Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) has deployed Solidcore for closed-loop change management across its distributed infrastructure. Solidcore provides unique capabilities to automate the enforcement of change policies, which can result in improved service availability of airport systems and increased security of servers throughout an airport infrastructure.

LAWA was undergoing a number of IT initiatives to upgrade its infrastructure and conform to the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) framework (a set of best practices for delivering high quality IT services). These upgrades can mean significant changes to IT systems that trigger service outages and create security risks. To prevent these problems, a change management process is proactively implemented and deployed in conjunction with Solidcore's S3 Control software, which automates the enforcement of change policies. Using Solidcore, changes to critical IT systems that are not approved via the change management process can be prevented. For approved changes, Solidcore automatically opens the change window on the servers to enable transparent implementation of the change. Auditing capabilities also provide real-time visibility into the authorized changes performed and any unauthorized changes attempted.

"We're excited to be working with LAWA as they take a leadership role in applying ITIL best practices to the airport IT infrastructure" said Bob Vieraitis, vice president of marketing for Solidcore. "Changes on production systems have become the root cause of nearly 80% of IT service outages, leading many organizations to begin ITIL implementations with change management. Solidcore's proactive enforcement capability adds control to the change management process, ensuring measurable benefits from an ITIL adoption within a quarter."

Solidcore's S3 Control product is easily configurable to increase the availability of IT services, enable successful implementation of ITIL projects and reduce the cost of compliance initiatives. Solidcore's change control software enables customers to gain real-time visibility into infrastructure changes, reconcile changes with change management systems, and is the only solution to provide technology-based change policy enforcement to automatically ensure changes made to the infrastructure are in-line with the change policy. Customers also leverage Solidcore to quickly and easily generate compliance reports for Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) or Payment Card Industry (PCI) audits.

About LAWA
Los Angeles World Airports is the aviation authority for the nation's second largest city, and hub of one of the world's most populous metropolitan areas. LAWA is faced with the challenges of providing an airport system to serve a major portion of the Southern California market. LAWA has met this challenge, and at no cost to the taxpayer. Los Angeles World Airports is a self-supporting branch of the City of Los Angeles, governed by a seven-member Board of Airport Commissioners. The board is composed of public-spirited business and civic leaders who are appointed by the mayor and approved by the City Council. Policies of the commission are carried out by a professional administrative staff and nearly 3,200 employees who operate and maintain four airports in the system, including Los Angeles International Airport, Ontario International Airport, Van Nuys Airport and Palmdale Regional Airport.

About Solidcore Systems
Solidcore adds control to change management. Solidcore's S3 Control software is the industry's first and only solution to automate the enforcement of change management policies. Solidcore automatically reconciles infrastructure changes against change tickets, and provides real-time change auditing so enterprises can measure the effectiveness of change management processes and policies. Customers trust Solidcore to improve service availability, implement ITIL initiatives, and lower costs related to Sarbanes-Oxley compliance. Solidcore also provides change control for embedded systems and is used by major device manufacturers to securely leverage open systems to meet their business requirements. Solidcore is headquartered in Palo Alto, California. For more information, visit www.solidcore.com.
