Vision Solutions, a leading high availability (HA) and disaster recovery solutions provider, has introduced an express offering targeting small to mid-market IBM System p customers using AIX, the company announced. Collaborating with IBM and distribution partner Arrow ECS, Vision Solutions is providing what it calls "affordable, reliable, and easy-to-use high availability solutions for businesses of all sizes."

"By partnering with Arrow and IBM, superior systems solutions are now easily available to the small to mid-market," said Bob Johnson, Vision's senior vice president of EMEA and Americas sales. "The reception to our business continuity products in the IBM System p world continues to be extraordinary, and this express offering significantly adds to that enthusiasm," he said.

The new offering couples IBM System p servers and Vision Solutions' EchoStream data replication software with advanced CDP (real continuous data protection) functionality. Now organizations of all sizes can take advantage of any-point-in-time recovery of valuable data inadvertently lost or corrupted. Other advantages include advanced usability of replicated data for testing, installing upgrades and business intelligence utilization. Installation and training take less than a day and the bundle includes specially priced service packages.

With EchoStream, Arrow adds another high visibility mid-market application to its growing list of value-added solutions enhancing its focus on the SMB space. Mike Nowlan, executive vice president of Arrow ECS, outlined the offering: "Arrow ECS p-Series resellers are authorized and trained to deliver this total solution to firms wanting to take advantage of this outstanding value."

IBM and Vision Solutions have had a successful technology alliance for almost 20 years in both System i and System p markets. Nick Vlamis, IBM's System p product manager weighed in on this new offering. "This collaboration takes the IBM/Vision relationship to a new level by joining forces with Arrow ECS and its partners to make a complete offering for any company looking for necessary data protection without adding pressure to their IT budget."

General availability for this offering is immediate and interested parties are asked to contact Arrow ECS and Vision Solutions for more details.
